Ombre Hair By Eva Wigs

The cold weather has finally left us and therefore, I have decided to change up my look a bit.  Gone are the solid, dark locks, only to be replaced with what I would like to call my transitional piece.  I'm looking to wear quite a light colour for the summer, so this is a great starting point to ease me into such a change.

I decided to select my hair from Eva wigs.  Eva Wigs is a website dedicated to high quality wigs and extensions, ranging from your everyday looks, to celebrity inspired styles.  What's refreshing about the site, is that there are many wigs resembling natural hair textures.  This is great for those looking at protective styling, but still wish to wear a look which resembles their own natural hair texture.

My Particular wig is 18 inches, silky texture, 150 in hair density (the fullest), has a natural hairline and is a glue less cap.

The wig itself was sent in this sturdy box, complete with a wide tooth comb, bobby pins and a user manual.  Wide tooth combs are essential for use on hair extensions so that they don't pull and break hairs from the base.  The user manual is complete with pictures documenting how to care for your hair extensions if you are not well versed.

The wig has two combs at the side and a bra-strap type adjustment at the back.  To give my edges a rest from the combs at the side, my hairdresser removed them and the wig was sewn down to my cornrows.   This also means that I can now wear my hair anyway I want to; up or down and with the help of the baby hairs, it conceals the lace underneath.

The wig is also a full lace, which means you can part the hair anyway you want to.  Originally, the wig came with a middle parting, but I think I sometimes suit a side parting more.  I have been wearing this wig for a month without any problems.  There has been no tangles, hardly any shedding and it still looks like new.  As with anything, you do have to look after this hair as you would your own.  Therefore, I make sure I have deep conditioned it and used anti-drying hair serums such as the one by Frizz Ease.  I have made a video documenting how to look after this particular wig and this can be found on my channel

If you are looking for a wig which has a touch of colour and is suitable for both work and play, then check out this piece.  Full details of this wig can be found here.

There is a  $35 off coupon code for my subscribers!  The code is:  WhatDawnDidInHeels4u

3 Day Juice Cleanse

As I stepped on the scales last Friday, I realised that I had made a good decision to start this juice cleanse….I have put on over half a stone (over 7 pounds)…I was mortified!  I wasn't surprised though. As you know from my Youtube fitness videos, I am a fitness bunny.  However, rewind to October 2014 and I was told (for personal reasons) that I was not allowed to exercise for 3 weeks.  After falling out of my workout sync, I was finding it very difficult to get the motivation to workout.  I also think that due to not being in the mindset, I found it easier just to come home and not exercise as much.

I remember being at work in December and thinking that my trousers felt rather tight!  As I've mentioned before, I hardly weigh myself, but I know when my body doesn't look 'right' and it wasn't looking right!

I therefore decided that come the new year, I will undertake a juice cleanse again (I had done one before I went to Italy last year).  The cleanse has come from The Natural Juicing Company.  In preparation, I made sure that I was back to my normal workout routine (and boy!  Does it feel GOOD TO BE BACK!) and also made sure I was putting in good things into my body.  What with Christmas, I'm sure that we can all say we overdid it with the food and alcohol.

I'm currently on the last day of the cleanse.  Yesterday was awful!  I wasn't hungry, but I wanted food! I wanted to chew and I wanted to taste.  A word of warning; day 2 is ALWAYS hard.  Day 1 = enthusiasm; Day 2 = No one with food should come near you; Day 3 = energised and you can see a difference.

I'll be making a video this week about my cleanse, so make sure you look out for it.  It will have full details on The Natural Juicing Company and my results.

Deuces 2014 and HELLO 2015!

Before I get into this post, I want to say a massive THANK YOU to all of you who continued to support me during 2014.  Trust me, your support does NOT go unnoticed!  I pray that you continue to support me with your kind words and prayers and I hope to meet a great deal of you throughout this new year.

I have been inspired to write this post off the back of Rachy's ' 2014 recap' video.  I may make my own recap video because not all of my supporters read my blog…or possibly know about it.

2014 was a tough year in every single way possible.  You know when everything just happens to you?  Well, that was me.  Death, accidents, illness, relationships, pressure on myself in relation to my career, stress, you name it, it happened!  And I put on a brave face but I had days where I was literally coming home and breaking down.  Hence why my Youtube videos have been a bit up and down in terms of posting.  There were times when I thought I had a schedule going and then because I was feeling so bad, I didn't have the strength or the energy to film and edit.  Like Rachy, I also had moments wondering whether anyone was really watching my videos.  About a year and a bit ago, Youtube made some changes to the site, which in turn had an adverse affect on many channels (mine included).  Supporters would email me asking whether I had stopped making videos when in reality, Youtube had unsubscribed them without their knowledge!  Viewing figures in turn, declined.  I realised that it's not about the view counts and subbie numbers, it is about what I make and whether its content serves a purpose to anyone.

As you know, I did something a little different in 2014, where I introduced an advice segment, geared at helping people reach their full potential.  I am no where near perfect, but I have many stories of situations and people who have tried to pull me off my path to success, only for me to be determined to keep going.  Again, I have not reached my full potential yet and I'm still learning everyday, but if I can help others out while I continue on my own path, I 100% would like to do so.  I was blessed enough to be invited by Tunde Okewale to speak at his Urban Lawyers event called 'Commercial Awareness' at BPL Law firm.  This was the first time that I had ever been a guest speaker at an event, so as you can imagine, I was beyond nervous!  However, I felt both humbled to be able to speak about my own experiences and give advice to others on pursuing a career in law.  I am again grateful to Tunde who had seen my advice videos and had faith in me to speak in such a forum.

I hope that these videos have been of help to some of you and I shall continue to make them this year.  I have a passion for helping people reach their full potential, so even if one person watches, I don't care!  I'll carry on…I'm made of strong stuff!  What I am also pleased with, is that I have been asked to speak at the Young Black Graduates event, to be held at the Bank of England at the end of this month.  Again, it is to inspire people to keep pushing and believing in themselves.  I'm so happy I'll be able to be a part of it.  I shall post more info on this event very soon.

So there you go, already a positive start to the new year.  My mindset is currently on making me happy and making sure I enjoy the fruits of my labour as it were.  Along with everything else that happened last year, I worked so hard barely gave myself a decent break!  Alas! Not this year lol.  I also have events which I would love to see you all at.  First will be a meet up.  I don't like to call them meet and great because I'm not a celeb!  I just make videos.  So if you are a supporter, blogger or fellow Youtuber, I would love to see you there.  It will be held in London and I'm aiming for Saturday 7th March.  Plotting and planning has begun but last time I did it (2 years ago), I was amazed at the turn out and at how many of us stayed in contact thereafter.  It was such a lovely time.  Many people even came on their own and left with friends!  So be brave, take a risk and come along.  More info to follow.

I also want to start up power dinners this year, for my ladies who are aiming for success.  But I want to try and incorporate feeling good too.  So for example, there would be people there who can give you a mini massage, etc.  Sometimes we forget to look after ourselves when trying to make dreams a reality.  So watch out for that and again, I would love to see as many of you as possible.

Blogging - Santa blessed me with a tablet,  so there is no excuse for me not to post regular posts.  I aim to write them on my lunch breaks.  So do check back here for my new posts and also, follow me on bloglovin.

2015 is going to be a positive year; the year where everything comes together through hard work and determination.  Again I want to thank you.  Remember to keep up to date by viewing my Youtube channel.

Wishing you a blessed 2015.

Sharing Information - Making and Keeping Money!

I'm a firm believer in empowering others.  Nothing delights me more than to give advice to someone, they follow through and their lives are enriched.  Hence why I have made advice videos on YouTube.   In this video, I talk about the 50/30/20% plan, which is all about allocating parts of your income to essential, priority and lifestyle budgets.  I live by this monthly and it does help to keep you on track.  Yes, there may be a month where you slip up, but we are only human.  As long as you mainly stick to this throughout the year, you'll be fine.

Let me know if you'll be doing this.
